Beef Kafta

Makes: 8-10 Kafta Skewers
Prep Time: 10 Min + 30 min for chilling
Cook Time: 7-8 Min.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lb Ground Beef, break up into pieces.

  • 1/2 Yellow Onion, cut into chunks

  • 3 Garlic Cloves

  • 1/4 Cilantro Bunch

  • 1 tbsp Curry Powder

  • 1 tbsp Cumin

  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder

  • 1/2 tsp Ground Pepper

  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. In a food processor add onions and garlic, pulse until the veggies are minced. Next add the cilantro and pulse until combined. Then add the ground beef pieces and the spices to the processor and blend until everything is combined. It will look like a well seasoned paste. There should be no pink pieces of ground beef. Transfer to a bowl.

  2. Using a 3/4 cup measuring cup, measure out 8-10 beef patties and place on a plate or sheet tray. Next, shape the patties into logs slightly thicker than your thumb and about 2-3 in. long. Once all of the patties are formed refrigerate for 30 min.

  3. Pre-heat grill to 400ºF. Place your patties on the grill and cook for 7-8 min. turning halfway during cooking time. Serve with grilled pita, hummus, tzatziki sauce or dill rice!
